David Smith is known throughout America as “Mr. Gospel Guitar”. He was a teen when he began his dynamic career as a guitarist for the Oak Ridge Boys. At a young age he was nominated for a Dove Award by the Gospel Music Association for Instrumentalist of the Year. David has played and sung for numerous groups and presented his message of Gospel in over 27 countries. Among those he has ministered with are John Osteen, R.W. Schambach and Dr. Norvel Hayes. David was also a regular on the Grand Ole Opry’s “Grand Ole Gospel Hour” for 16 years. He also played with such stars as “Jumpin” Bill Carlysle, Leon Russell, and Willie Nelson. Davids wife, Carrie, a graduate from Millikin University School of Music, Decatur, IL now joins him in his travels. Carrie grew up singing and playing for various churches and organizations. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2002, Carrie and David became active in ministering to people that have MS; sharing a message of how prayer and a positive attitude can change a life. God has blessed the Smiths for bringing a message that sets people free.
